What does a metal cutting mechanic actually do?

As a mechatronics technician at Schütte, you often work on innovative concepts and processes. You are the person in the company who has to be able to deal with complex mechatronic systems. Whether ABS braking systems or autopilots in ships and aeroplanes - the mechatronics engineer is involved in all components and products that combine electronic and mechanical components.

Mechatronics engineers are familiar with elements of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics and mathematics. As a mechatronics technician, you can work in assembly and maintain complex machines and are familiar with plant and mechanical engineering. You are also familiar with electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components. At the end of your training, you will be able to assemble systems and check the relevant equipment. As a mechatronics technician, you are ideally equipped for the development, production and operation of future-oriented systems and devices.

What is the training like?

During the 3.5 years of training, you will go to vocational school 1-2 times a week, where you will be taught everything about machining technology. On the other 3-4 days you will learn the practical side of the job in our training workshop and on projects with colleagues.

What are the requirements?

As already mentioned, you should have manual skills, spatial awareness and an interest in mechanics.
The minimum requirement is a secondary school leaving certificate type 10B and good grades in Mathematics, German and Physics.
