Setup of the SCX Series
Theoretical course with practical content on a real machine
Target audience: Machine setters
Duration: 5 days (Monday 8:30 a.m. to Friday 2:30 p.m.)
Prerequisites
Knowledge of turning technology and experience with multi-spindle automatic lathes, as well as experience operating CNC machines.
Learning Objectives
Basic understanding of the functionality and features of the SCX series. Procedures for retooling and setting up a new workpiece on the machine. Commissioning and adjustment of NC programs. Explanation of operating concepts.
Training Content
- Basic structure and operation of the SCX series
- Menu navigation and machine operation using the SICS user software
- Fundamentals of the machining process, cycle time calculation, setup plan, and tool list
- Tooling concept and presetting methods, coolant concepts
- Setup library and corresponding manufacturing processes
- Counter-spindle concepts, rear-side machining, and alignment operations
- Structure and commissioning of NC programs
- Editing and optimization of part programs, analysis tools
- Compensation strategies (wear, thermal drift, etc.), process monitoring
- Travel ranges and collision situations, tool turrets
- Material flow and workpiece handling, palletizing
- Scope and function of auxiliary units (hydraulics, pneumatics, coolant)
- Message texts and troubleshooting, teleservice
