Prerequisites: Skills in the area of turning technology and handling of multi-spindle automatic automatics, plus experience in the operation of CNC machines.
Learning objective:
Basic comprehension of the method of operation and equipment of the SCX series. Procedure for retooling and setting up a new workpiece on the machine. Initial operation and adaptation of NC programs. Explanation of operating concepts.

- Basic structure and method of operation of the SCX series
- Menu navigation and machine operation with the user software SICS
- Basic principles of a machining sequence, determination of part-production time, setup plan and tool list
- Tool concept and methods of presetting, cooling lubricant concepts
- Setup library and corresponding production processes
- Opposed spindle concepts, rear-side machining and alignment procedures
- Structure and initial operation of NC programs
- Processing and optimization of workpiece programs, analysis aids
- Compensation strategies (wear, thermal growth, etc.), process monitoring

Addressed group of persons: CNC programmers, automatic lathe setters, production planners
Prerequisites: Experience in the area of turning technology. Professional experience in the handling of multi-spindle automatics and knowledge of NC programming (DIN 66025).
Learning objective:
- Refreshing knowledge on the method of operation and equipment of the SCX series.
- Basic comprehension of the control concept of the SCX series. Aids for process configuration. Preparation and optimisation of NC programs.

Addressed group of persons: CNC programmer, automatic lathe setters with NC skills
Prerequisites: Experience in programming of CNC machines. Knowledge of the method of operation of the SCX and successful participation in the course "Programming I" or knowledge of the presented learning content.
Learning objective:
More detailed knowledge of programming the SCX. Introduction to high-level language
programming. Comprehension and optimisation of non-production times. Programming of complex contours. Case analyses.

- Basic structure and control concept of the SCX series
- Axis frame and channel assignments, communication between NC and PLC
- Structure and menu navigation of the user software SICS, structure of the NC program
- Programming with transformations, multi-axis movements
- Subroutines, standard and special cycles
- Program loops, program jumps and program branches
- Synchronous actions, frame shifting, rotations, contouring control
- Version programming, linkage, parameterisation
- Analysis methods, part-production time analyses, optimisation approaches, troubleshooting

- SCX series – service and maintenance/mechanical system
Addressed group of persons: Maintenance and repair personnel
Prerequisites: Qualified specialist in the area of production engineering, system technology or industrial mechanical systems.
Learning objective:
Basic comprehension of the structure and function of multi-spindle automatics. Detecting, analysing and eliminating malfunctions, plus preventive and condition-oriented maintenance.

Addressed group of persons: Maintenance and service personnel
A prerequisite for participation in this course is thorough knowledge of SINUMERIK 840D Solution Line, Step7,
SIMODRIVE/SINAMICS and the bus systems ASi-bus and Profibus. A further requirement for course participants is prior attendance at a SINUMERIK 840D Solution Line training course at SIEMENS.
The course is designed for electrically skilled persons.
Learning objective:
Independent and systematic troubleshooting. Comprehension of hardware and software.
